The brief

Packaging that would embody the ocean's essence and appeal to eco-conscious consumers.

Lauren Carragher, a freelance graphic designer, was tasked with developing packaging concepts for Palms Organics, an organic skincare brand inspired by the sea. With a mood board and logo already created, she needed to explore packaging options that would effectively house each product in the line while maintaining the brand's organic, ocean-inspired aesthetic.

The Designer's vision

Translating sea-inspired vision into packaging reality.

Lauren had a personal connection to the Palms Organics brand: "Palms is an organic skincare brand inspired by the sea—one that I love and care about." Her vision centred on designing dropper bottles and carton boxes for each product in the Palms Organics line that would embody the natural, sea-inspired essence of the brand.

With the foundational brand elements already established, Lauren needed to explore how these would translate to physical packaging.

The Spring Solution

Lauren leveraged Spring's capabilities to bring her vision to life through 3 key steps:

1. Concept generation

Lauren began with existing brand assets including a moodboard and brand logo as her foundation. This integration of established brand elements into Spring's AI generator enabled her to create packaging concepts that remained true to Palms Organics' identity while exploring new possibilities for their packaging.

Lauren fed in the creative direction with this prompt:

The artwork showcases a luxurious design for the Palm skincare brand, featuring a blend of linen and olive green colours. A sophisticated repeating pattern elegantly forms a net around the composition, enhancing the sense of opulence. The intricate details of the pattern evoke a feeling of tranquillity and refinement, perfectly embodying the essence of luxury skincare.

2. Iteration and remix

The process involved extensive experimentation and refinement: testing different prompts, backgrounds and compositions. This iterative approach allowed Lauren to continuously explore various packaging options, pushing the boundaries of what Spring could create while maintaining the sea-inspired aesthetic of the Palms Organics brand.

3. Fine tuning

Once the images were generated, Lauren fine-tuned them directly in the Spring Editor, uploading the logo, cleaning up details, and making adjustments until everything felt just right. This streamlined workflow kept the entire process within a single tool, allowing Lauren to perfect every aspect of the packaging renders without switching between applications.

The results

Packaging visuals that perfectly align with the brand’s vision.

Spring enabled Lauren to efficiently develop packaging visualisations that perfectly captured the Palms Organics brand essence.

The platform helped Lauren:

  1. Generate initial concept designs based on her creative direction.
  2. Refine designs through an iterative process that pushed creative boundaries.
  3. Create professional-quality visualisations that effectively communicated the brand identity.

Spring allowed me to experiment extensively while keeping true to the brand's essence. The ability to upload an existing logo, generate multiple concepts, and then refine them directly within the platform streamlined what would have been a much longer process. The resulting mockups perfectly capture what Palms Organics stands for and provide a clear direction for production.
